How We Met
The all-knowing dating site algorithm declared us 99% compatible. Turns out it was right.
When We Knew
Our first date was nine hours long and we'll admit we had an inkling even then. We learned so much that night: about each other, our lives, our hopes and dreams, and all the reasons we are too old to make out in a minivan. It was the beginning of forever and we both knew it.
The Proposal
There were many grand, romantic proposal plans in the works but the perfect moment had nothing to do with all of that. One quiet night at home we heard the perfect song, the one you will hear when Violet walks down the aisle, and it was Time. There was laughter and sentimental language. There were tears of joy and the promise of forever. On December 28, 2022 Christian proposed to Violet.There was a ring. He got on one knee. She said yes!
A Day in the Life
Christian is a software engineer who loves to talk about ethics. Violet is an ethicist who loves to talk about robots. Together we live just outside Portland in the wonderful home we share with our four children (ages 19, 15, 14, and 11), our extended family and loved ones, and a wide varity of nerdy collectibles. We love big, loud family brunches, quiet evenings snuggled up reading, and trying to solve all the world's problems before 9am.
